Nursing Assistants are usually young people who are interested in pursuing a career as a nurse or Doctor's assistant. They work alongside or under the supervision of qualified nurses (RNs) and Doctors. They provide basic nursing care to patients who need help with their daily activities, such as bathing, dressing and eating.

The course is usually 2 years long and it is divided into 2 semesters. During the first semester, students learn about nursing assistant/aide skills and knowledge. They also learn about topics such as Fundamentals of Nursing, Community Diseases, Medical-Surgical Operations etc.

In the second semester, students are given opportunities to work on practical projects related to their chosen field. They will be required to complete various assignments which involve them doing tasks related to caring for patients at home or in hospitals.
